Your worst Match at the Boleyn?
Just for balance!

Those with suicidal tendencies should not proceed...

For me...

1991. Notts County. Last game of the Season.

Oh sweet lord I can hardly bring myself to write about it. After such a long hard season both on and off the pitch - To choke like that... Ohhh maaaan. Those that were there know. Stood on that pitch... felt like I'd been punched in the guts...

Followed by 0-4 QPR (sat with QPR mate)
Followed by 1-4 Villa (sat with Villa supporting brother)

Must be loads out there....

Blimey, there have been so many to remember a specific one, including bizarrely the odd win such as against Hull a couple of seasons ago which was low for certain obvious reasons.

I'll go for the cup semi against Luton in 89 when we lost 3-0 with McKnight having a disaster. That sucked.

Yeah I have to say the Wolves 1-3 loss in 2010 was the worst ever home performance I've ever seen.

Re: Your worst Match at the Boleyn?
Opening day of the season in 1994, a stinking 0-0 draw v Leeds. I had gone to the previous 2 days of the Oval test match v South Africa and it was a toss up between going on the Saturday or going to the West ham game. When I got home I discovered that Devon Malcolm had the day of his career and taken 9-57 to skittle SA and England to win. I certainly took the wrong option on that day!

1975 At home to Newcastle in mid February and drawn 0 - 0. it was the first time my wife had made a concerted attempt to stop me going, as this was the night she brought our new son home from hospital. I stood my ground and saw the most boring game ever, wondering why I had sown the seeds of discord for such a shit game of football. It is true however that I would do the same again no matter what.

This was the 2nd game I went to (Beating West Brom 3-1 on 01/12/1990 being the first)

Just as you said freezing (and pissing down IIRC) Only plus point was Beckford missing a sitter right at the very end. Not sure why I was still there to see it as the game was absolutely rank!

29 Dec 1990 West Ham United v Port Vale D 0-0 League Division Two

One of my 1st games at UP, freezing and an awful game.

I'll get post 96er cents for this, but can I add last season's FA cup exit to the list? Utterly, utterly pathetic display all round against a team who had been shite up until that point

The Tottenham 4-3 loss was the fucking pits, though cam out the ground with some optimism for Curbs.

Mick McCarthy's Wolves gave us a battering in about 2010, we were woeful

West Ham United 0 Liverpool 2

Relegated for the first time in 25 years, a draw would have seen us safe with QPR going down. Only 3 years beforehand we won the cup at Wembley and 2 years previous got to the final of the ECWC

We were abject all season, crowds were very poor and the feeling for a 16 YO was beyond imagination. I will never forget the walk back to UP station along a silent, stunned Green Street.

The lads I used to go with, a small collective from the Croydon Purley area I never saw again. We all went our separate ways, me off to join the RN.

I saw what games I could the following season, in the end it was quite a good feeling supporting the team to be feared in Div 2 but nothing since has ever felt as bad to young man

Been to a lot of these games, seem to remember drawing with Aldershot and Farnborough Town at home in the FA Cup, at we won the replays!

FA Cup Replay v Sunderland 1992 : 2-3

Had wiped that from my memory banks, we went 0-2 to draw level only to throw it away again, John Bryne tore us a new one and Mike Small was so inept he made Carlton Cole look like Eusebio.

Surely the Mannygate replay against Villa, we'd already knocked the cunts out.

The Rob Harris Leeds match.

Absolutely diabolical display of refereeing at best and the most blatant case of match fixing ever at worst.

Wasn't even reported much at the time either.
